| Photo Restoration: The restoration of a photograph is accomplished by
scanning or photographing the original and making the repairs through the use of the
computer with a good photo program. Once the original photograph is scanned,it is put
aside, all repairs take place on the scanned image. |
|
I can also work with a jpeg
that has been scanned or photographed. The jpeg may be sent via e-mail. Please call us
before sending an image. |
|
Black and White photographs are computer
repaired. The final print can be printed digitally or a new negative may be created with
the final results printed in a darkroom on real photographic paper! |
|
Color photographs are repaired and the final results are printed digitally on
Epson or Ilford photo papers. |
|
I generally prefer to print any black and white work in the darkroom. Digital
prints in black and white, although are improving, still do not match the quality and
tones of a real darkroom made photograph. I can however provide a sepia tinted digital
print that is very good. |
|
The cost of restoring an image is 40.00 plus the cost of printing using the
price list posted on the price list page of this website. There
are some photographs that are so damaged that it can not be repaired for that price. I
reserve the right to refuse a job if I feel that I cannot repair it properly. Not all
photographs can be repaired, some would require more work than would be realistic or may
be so damaged that attempting to restore it would be futile. Certainly please call for
further information or to clarify anything written here!

As an example, a photograph to be restored would cost 40.00 plus 2 - 8x10 prints.
The 1st 8x10 is 24.50 and the additional copy would be half price or 12.25. The total
would be 40.+24.50+12.25 = $76.75 In black and white, if a real photograph is requested,
than a new negative will be made. The additional cost would be 40.00 to make a new
negative. The printing prices are the same.
